Music Ministry Areas of Service


Cantors

Cantors serve the community as song leaders for the 5 PM Saturday and 9:15 AM English Masses.  They also participate in special liturgies throughout the year such as Triduum, Christmas Eve, and Confirmation.  Cantors assist with funerals and weddings as requested.  The ability to read music is helpful.

Accompanists

Accompanists provide musical support on piano and/or organ for 5 PM Saturday and 9:15 AM English Masses. Accompanists meet with the cantor 45 minutes prior to Mass for practice.  They also participate in special liturgies throughout the year such as Triduum, Christmas Eve, and Confirmation.  Accompanists assist with funerals and weddings as requested.  Knowledge of liturgy is helpful.

Instrumentalists

Instrumentalists enhance the worship experience at 5 PM Saturday and 9:15 AM English Masses.  Various instruments - strings, brass, and wind - play either with the accompanist or as a small group ensemble.  They also participate in special liturgies throughout the year such as Triduum, Christmas Eve, and Confirmation.  Knowledge of liturgy is helpful.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir typically participates in Christmas Eve and liturgies for Triduum.  The choir also participates in the Community Ecumenical Thanksgiving service.  Rehearsals are scheduled in advance and advertised in the parish bulletin.  High school age and up are welcome to participate.

Children's Choir

The Children's Choir participates in a Christmas Eve program prior to the Family Mass.  Rehearsals are scheduled in advance and advertised in the parish bulletin.  School age children through high school are welcome to participate.

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir rehearses bimonthly from September through May.  The Handbell Choir typically participates in Christmas Eve and liturgies for Triduum.  They also play at special liturgies throughout the year such as the Graduation Mass and Pentecost.  High school age and up are welcome to participate.
